These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) are a legal agreement between you (“you”, “your”, “User”) and Pecunia Labs Corp. (“Pecunia”, “we”, “us”, “our”). They govern your access to and use of Pecunia’s web and mobile applications and related services (the “Service”). By registering an account, clicking “I Accept”, or using the Service you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
This document references all core features of Pecunia, including:
Budgeting, savings, investment and goal tools
Transaction aggregation and categorization
Pecunia Score (financial behavior scoring)
Net-worth and projected net-worth calculations
Group features (shared goals, funds, peer lending)
Market scanning, activity/itinerary planning, and other data-processing features
1. Scope; Acceptance
Pecunia is a consumer personal-finance platform offering financial tracking, categorization, budgeting, savings and investments tools, projections, group collaboration, a social feed, and AI-driven insights. Certain features require consent to third-party integrations (Plaid, AI providers, Firebase) and related data processing as described in our Privacy Policy. Continued use after changes to these Terms constitutes acceptance.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old and legally permitted to manage your own finances under Canadian law (or the minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). If you are under the age of majority in your province or territory, you may need a parent or guardian’s consent. Use is prohibited in jurisdictions where the Service is unlawful.
3. Accounts & Security
You must provide accurate registration information and keep it current. Passwords are hashed (bcrypt). We strongly encourage using multi-factor authentication (MFA). On mobile, tokens must be stored in secure device storage (Keychain / SecureStore). You are responsible for all activity on your account and must notify support immediately if you suspect unauthorized use.
4. Services; Limitations
Pecunia provides tools and information to help you manage finances. Some features use automated models (including third-party AI) to produce categorizations, forecasts, investment insights and recommendations. These are informational only. Pecunia is not a bank, investment adviser, broker, escrow agent or lender and does not hold customer funds except as explicitly described for certain features. You remain responsible for financial decisions and verifying information before acting.
5. Third-Party Integrations
With your consent, Pecunia connects to financial institutions via Plaid and may send limited data to AI providers and other subprocessors. We do not request or store raw banking credentials; instead, we use secure tokens. Data may also be stored and processed through cloud services like Firebase (Firestore, Storage, Hosting, Cloud Functions/Cloud Run).
We do not sell your personal data. Pecunia applies strong security practices to protect your information, though no system is perfectly secure. Use of third-party services is subject to their own terms and privacy policies.
6. User Content; Social & Group Features
You retain ownership of content you post. By submitting content you grant Pecunia a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, use, adapt and display it to provide the Service and to create anonymized or aggregated analytics.
Group savings, peer transfers or lending features are arrangements between users; Pecunia is not responsible for repayment, collection or disputes among users. Social and community features are subject to acceptable use rules.
7. Payments & Subscriptions
Paid features require valid payment information and authorization for recurring charges. We use third-party payment processors and do not store full card data. Billing, trial, cancellation and refund terms are shown at purchase and form part of these Terms.
8. Security & Data Protection
We use industry-standard protections including TLS for data in transit, strong encryption at rest (AES-256 or equivalent), hashed passwords, JWT session tokens, MFA options, least-privilege IAM, logging and monitoring. We pursue third-party audits and penetration testing. While we apply rigorous safeguards, no system is completely secure.
9. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, retention periods, data transfers (including Firebase/Google Cloud), and your rights (access, deletion, portability, correction). You can contact us regarding privacy at support@pecunia.gg
10. Warranties; Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” PECUNIA DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. AI OUTPUTS, THE PECUNIA SCORE, INVESTMENT PROJECTIONS, AND FORECASTS ARE INFORMATIONAL ONLY AND DO NOT CONSTITUTE FINANCIAL, TAX, OR LEGAL ADVICE.
11. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PECUNIA’S TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE PREVIOUS 12 MONTHS OR CAD $100. PECUNIA IS NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR USER-TO-USER TRANSACTIONS OR THIRD-PARTY DATA ERRORS.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold Pecunia and its officers, directors, employees and agents harmless from claims, damages, liabilities, costs and expenses (including legal fees) arising from your violation of these Terms, misuse of the Service, unlawful activity, or infringement of rights.
13. Suspension & Termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts for violations, illegal activity, or security reasons. You may close your account at any time; closure follows our retention and deletion processes (see Privacy Policy). Termination does not relieve accrued obligations.
14. Dispute Resolution; Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Canada and the Province of Ontario. For disputes not resolved through support, you and Pecunia agree to attempt good-faith negotiation. If unresolved, disputes will be subject to arbitration in Toronto, Ontario under the Arbitration Act (Ontario), except where prohibited by law. Both parties waive jury trial and class action rights, to the extent permitted.
15. Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms. For material changes we will provide advance notice (email or in-app). Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance. Prior versions will be retained for reference.
16. Notices & Contact Information
We send notices to the email linked to your account or via in-app messages. Contact us at:
If any provision is held invalid, the rest remain effective. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any purchase terms, form the entire agreement between you and Pecunia regarding the Service.
